Writers are an observant bunch. Everyday we notice things we might want to use in our work sometime down the road. Things happen all around us that we don’t want to forget. We want to remember what we overheard between two lovers under an oak tree, or what the rotting plum on the kitchen counter smelled like or what the bumper sticker said about bull frogs and bacon. And we need a place to store all these tidbits.
We keep them in notebooks, shoe boxes or online files. My Writer’s Notebook is a place for me to share some of the morsels I might want to use someday.
Maybe my observations will entertain or inspire you. Maybe they’ll prompt you to create your own story, write a poem or song lyric, or draw a picture. Maybe you’ll look at the world around you a little more closely.
Come along and find out what I’m noticing.
